Kensington Partners With Nordics To Promote Sustainable Travel Across Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland

Luxury tour operator Kensington Tours has finalized the details of a partnership with The Nordics to promote sustainable travel experiences across five countries.

The effort will include introducing updated itineraries that will allow travelers to experience the region in a way that “emphasizes care, preservation and a deep connection to the environment,” Kensington Tours said in a statement today.

The countries included in the new sustainable travel partnership eare: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

“The Nordics have united to offer travelers unforgettable journeys through pristine landscapes and culturally rich cities, all while minimizing the environmental impact of travel,” the statement continues. “Each itinerary is designed with sustainability in mind, from electric vehicle transportation to eco-friendly accommodations, and celebrates the region’s commitment to protecting its unique ecosystems.

Selected sustainable itineraries

As part of the new collaboration, Kensington curated four itineraries that are meant to highlight the best of Nordic landscapes and culture, while ensuring a minimal environmental footprint. The itineraries are both new and updated itineraries. 

  • Iceland & Copenhagen: Nature and Sustainability

    An 8-day itinerary from $10,848 USD offering the best of Iceland’s raw, natural landscapes alongside Copenhagen’s urban, eco-conscious charm. Priced from Highlights include:

    -Exploring Iceland’s volcanic wonders, glaciers, and black sand beaches.

    -Biking through the streets of Copenhagen, indulging in its gastronomic delights, and experiencing its innovative architecture.
  • Denmark: History, Urban Design, and Sustainability

    A 10-day itinerary priced from $12,429 per person focusing on Denmark’s commitment to sustainable living and its rich history. This journey covers Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Dragsholm, where travelers will:

    -Experience a blend of modernity and history in Copenhagen, a city dedicated to greener futures.

    -Explore Aarhus, discovering Viking history and modern sustainable practices.

    -Visit Samso Island, a leader in sustainable living, and enjoy an exclusive tour at Moesgaard Museum.

  • Active Iceland

    A popular existing itinerary featuring Iceland’s stunning landscapes and active adventures, this trip is perfect for travelers looking to hike, bike, snorkel, and explore while staying in eco-friendly accommodations. 

    With a private guide, guests will explore Iceland's stunning landscapes, zipline through the Black Canyon, raft along the Golden Circle, discover ice caves, and embark on a zodiac boat ride through a glacial lagoon with towering icebergs. Seven days from $10,969 per person.
  • Fjords & Sustainable Nordic Capitals
    This 12-day itinerary from $8,890 per person combines Norway’s dramatic fjords with the vibrant capitals of Sweden and Finland, offering a blend of outdoor adventures and city exploration. Travelers will:

    -Cruise through Norway’s iconic fjords.

    -Discover the eco-conscious cities of Stockholm and Helsinki.

Focus on sustainability

Each of the Kensington itineraries highlighted are designed with a focus on sustainability. Highlights include:

  • Electric Vehicles where available.
  • Public Transportation to minimize the carbon footprint.
  • Active Outdoors experiences, such as walking and cycling tours.
  • Locally Sourced Food experiences featuring seasonal and sustainable ingredients.
  • Visits to preserved natural and historical sites that emphasize the region’s commitment to conservation.
  • Stays in eco-friendly, green-certified accommodations.

“Kensington Tours and The Nordics are committed to providing travelers with an authentic, responsible travel experience, whether they’re exploring a volcanic glacier in Iceland or enjoying the cultural richness of Denmark’s urban landscapes,” said the statement. “[The] aim to showcase the Nordic region as it is meant to be experienced: with care, preservation, and a deep connection to the environment.”
