Connect to Europe with AmaWaterways

Cruise the lovely rivers of Europe with AmaWaterways and connect with different cultures of the world.
One such place to experience is Serbia. Cruise the Danube and then immerse yourself in a new culture. Serbia is an emerging destination that is “one of the most vibrant cultural epicenters of Eastern Europe.”
Promenade along Prince Michael Street, one of the oldest streets in Belgrade.
Travelers can explore the many shops, sip drinks and taste delicious delights at the outdoor cafés as you marvel at the street performers and people watch those who walk by.
The famous street was named after Prince Mihailo Obrenovic in 1870, a year after he was assassinated. You can find a statue of him in Belgrade’s Republic Square.
Additionally, the street follows the same grid layout to this day that it had all the way back when the Romans ruled the land.
There is breathtaking architecture surrounding all those who pass through Prince Michael Street.
Serbians gained their independence from the Ottoman Empire in the 1800’s and soon began constructing buildings with a more “European flair.”
The Renaissance and Art Nouveau styles were built by Serbia’s most wealthy families.
There’s so much to explore on this lively street. It really is a terrific way to make a connection back to history.
AmaWaterways features many ways to connect to Europe through stylish and luxurious river cruising.
