Earth day is a time to reflect on how to better support the environment, and this not only applies on a day to day basis but also while traveling.
In order to encourage responsible travel, G Adventures offers the Jane Goodall Collection consisting of 20 wildlife-focused tours. The company also has come up with a green packing list-items travelers can keep in mind to help reduce their footprint during a trip.
First on the list is a reusable water bottle. Staying hydrated while traveling is important, but so often people choose to grab a plastic water bottle at the airport or at a nearby gas station. Packing a water bottle and refilling it throughout the trip can make a huge difference.
Biodegradable soap and organic bug spray are also good to have. These things prevent harmful chemicals from getting into the water and in the air. Several parks and locations around the world require this, so be sure to plan ahead for not only these things but also sunscreen, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
A tote bag is also helpful to have while traveling. If your trip requires a few stops at a store for shopping or grabbing groceries, the tote can replace plastic bags that would have been used. It can also double as a day bag for the beach or during an excursion.
