Traveling can sometimes be hectic and stressful, and it's easy to overindulge leaving a feeling of discomfort. The travel directors at Trafalgar know it's not always easy to stay healthy during a trip, so they've offered their tips on how to stay as healthy as possible.
Stay Calm in Crowds
We all know staying calm in a crowded city can be difficult. Try avoiding the main touristy areas and find a quieter location to explore. Learn to follow your instincts, take deep breaths and assess the situation before finding yourself in the midst of it all.
If you realize beforehand that a certain area might be too crowded, try an alternative route.
Make Yourself at Home
Sleeping in foreign hotel rooms is not always the easiest thing to do, especially for those who are used to their home routine and don't travel often. The Trafalgar travel directors suggest bringing your own music to play in the room.
Also, packing your own items such as hair dryers, shower caps and snacks can allow you to feel right at home in your room. If space allows, stick a nice comfortable set of pajamas and slippers in your suitcase as well!
Exercise
Even if there isn't a ton of space, it's usually possible to fit in a short exercise routine. One travel director remembers to stretch each morning and takes the stairs throughout the day.
If you are looking for a little more, grab a bath towel for the floor and do some push-ups, squats, abdominal exercises and other floor exercises to get the blood flowing. This is great to do before a long day of sitting on the bus or exploring.
