The blood reportedly came from an injured passenger who banged his head on the ceiling of the plane after he was thrown into the air during the turbulence. The man was not wearing his seatbelt at the time.
Thai Airways released a statement apologizing to passengers and praising pilots for getting through the turbulence and landing the aircraft safely. The airline also commented on the passenger's injury, saying, "All those who were hurt on the aircraft have returned home from hospital."
