This isn't the only holiday market in New York City, but it's definitely one of the most popular. Featuring more than 70 stalls, all manned by local craftspeople, artists and food providers, the Union Square Holiday Market is the perfect place to do a spot of Christmas shopping. There are also regular live music performances to keep the atmosphere jolly.

December 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th 2018

Heading into its almost 60th year, the historic annual Georgetown Christmas market sees the downtown area transform into an old-time mountain Christmas scene. There's horse-drawn wagon rides, Victorian carolers, a European marketplace and the cutest children's Santa Lucia procession you will ever see.

The Christmas Village, located in LOVE Park, aims to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional European Christmas market. There are over 80 different vendors selling European-style food (think bratwursts, Belgian waffles and gluhwein), as well as gifts and ornaments from around the world.

Although a newer and perhaps more extravagant market than some of the others on this list, 'Enchant' is magical nonetheless. Located at Safeco Field, it features one of the world's largest Christmas light mazes, an ice skating rink, a chance to visit Santa and Mrs Claus, as well as many gift stalls and food vendors.
