What to Expect at Your Next Walt Disney World Resort Stay

Walt Disney World Resorts

1/10
Walt Disney World is gearing up to start accepting guests again in the coming weeks with the official phased park reopening beginning on July 11th. While the parks are in the process of implementing new health and safety measures, so too are the resorts located throughout the property. Katie Kelly, Vice President of Worldwide Safety Services at Disney Parks, has recently released an outline of what guests should expect to see during their next Walt Disney World Resort stay.

Online Check-In

2/10
Many Walt Disney World's resorts already used an online check-in service that is linked to your My Disney Experience. Here you can get up to the minute updates on when your room will be ready. It also allows guests who already received their magic bands in the mail prior to their trip, to bypass the lobby completely - as these Magic Bands double as a key into your hotel room.

Redesigned Bell & Luggage Service

3/10
Guests' luggage will now be delivered directly to your room through the bell service. Any grocery items that visitors order through services like Amazon Prime and Garden Grocer are expected to also be delivered directly to guests' rooms.

Increased Cleaning and Sanitizing of High Traffic Areas

4/10
Cleaning of elevators, escalators, handrails, benches, tables, door handles and restrooms will be sanitized on a regular basis.

Expanding the Number of Hand Sanitizer Stations

5/10
Just like in the parks, hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the resorts for guests to use.

Reduced Capacity

6/10
Throughout the resort, capacity has been reduced to help implement social distancing. At Disney Springs, parking was limited to just two parking garages. And restaurants are expected to have tables spaced six feet apart.

Physical Distancing Markers

7/10
Floor markings, just like at Disney Springs, will help guests to maintain social distancing throughout Walt Disney World properties.

Limiting Contact Services

8/10
Walt Disney World is relying more heavily than ever on their My Disney Experience mobile app. This allows guests to not only have a contactless check-in, but it allows guests to pay with just a tap of their wrist and place mobile orders.

Enhanced Room Cleaning

9/10
Before guests even arrive, each room is expected to undergo enhanced cleaning. New measures are being implemented and training of increased measures will be completed by all housekeeping cast members.

Expectation for Guests to Do Their Part

10/10
Walt Disney World is doing its part to help increase health and safety measures throughout its theme parks and hotels, but it is also up to its visitors to make sure they are washing their hands on a regular basis, following social distancing markers and staying away if they have a temperature of over 100.4.
