Alaska Airlines has apologized to Brenda Song and her family after the actress blasted the airline for "splitting up" her family on a recent flight.
In a statement to USA Today on Sunday, the airline confirmed that it has reached out to the family to "make it right."
"The experience these guests had today was unacceptable and not reflective of the care we strive to deliver," Alaska Airlines told the news outlet. "Traveling can be stressful, especially with young children, and we pride ourselves on being a top airline for traveling families. We are deeply sorry for adding friction to the experience."
The apology came one day after Song took to social media to criticize Alaska for not seating her and her young children together.
"I didn't know when you book your first class tickets six months in advance for your family of six for your son's birthday - Alaska Airlines can just give away your seats the morning of with no warning, splitting up you and your 3- and 4-year-old kids," Song wrote in an Instagram story. "We will never fly Alaska Airlines again and neither should you."
Song tagged fiancé Macaulay Caulkin in the post.
According to its website, Alaska Airlines guarantees that children age 13 and under will be seated next to at least one accompanying adult at no additional cost, assuming the child and adult are booked on the same reservation.
