Choir On Flight Salutes WWII Soldier's Remains With 'Battle Hymn of the Republic'

Glory, glory hallelujah!

On a July 18 Delta Flight headed from Germany to Atlanta, the Iowa Ambassador of Music Choir found a fitting and stirring way to honor the remains of a World War II veteran and the Army private who was tasked with getting the man's remains back to the United States.

The choir was returning home to Iowa after a three-week European tour, and the soldier was continuing on to Houston.

While many may have wrongly bristled at the idea of waiting while the private deplaned or even worried about making their connections, this choir and the rest of the passengers provided a memory that so many will cherish long into the future.
