West Coast fliers now have a second ultra-luxe space to relax before boarding their plane, thanks to Delta Air Lines.
The carrier has just opened the doors to its second Delta One Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The plan is to open the new lounge in two phases.
In the first phase of the opening, the lounge will offer an intimate atmosphere with 4,000 square feet of space and seating for 75 travelers.
Amenities include three showers, four cabana-style bathrooms, and sweeping views of the airfield. The culinary experience will offer a premium bar and gourmet dishes like lamb bolognese with house-made lumache pasta, as well as hamachi crudo flown in daily from Japan.
Travelers can find the new Delta One Lounge on the mezzanine level of LAX’s Terminal 2.
Phase two of the lounge will see the space completely renovated and is expected to be completed by 2028, when Los Angeles is scheduled to host the Olympics.
In addition to the second Delta One lounge, the carrier plans to also add a new 11,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club to LAX’s Terminal 2 in 2027.
That means that by 2028, Delta will offer a total of 60,000 square feet of lounge space across four lounges at LAX.
“This investment remains congruent to our strategy of elevating the premium experience both at LAX and across our global network,” said Megan Humphreys, vice president of Delta Sky Club and lounge experience. “With demand for premium travel continuing to rise and our global footprint expanding, we’re thoughtfully looking at every square foot we have — designing every detail with intention and to align with the Delta One experience our customers deserve.”
