Cleveland rocks!
Drew Carey thinks so. And so does Frontier Airlines.
The ultra-low fare carrier will begin nonstop service from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) to 10 additional destinations in May. Daily departures by the airline from Cleveland will increase 38 percent year over year.
The 10 new routes, which come on the heels of additional expansion, include service to Houston, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Myrtle Beach, Austin, Charleston in South Carolina, Savannah, Salt Lake City, Pensacola and Baltimore. What's more, travelers can book the new flights as low as $19 for a limited time.
It’s welcome news for Cleveland Hopkins, which has suffered from some attrition in recent years.
These routes are in addition to the service announced last month from CLE to Minneapolis-Saint Paul and New York City's LaGuardia. With the new routes, Frontier will serve a total of 30 destinations. It is the leading airline at Cleveland Hopkins.
“Our growth in Cleveland is soaring,” said Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier Airlines. “We’re thrilled to connect consumers in Northeast Ohio with low fares to even more destinations throughout the U.S. Our new crew base at CLE set to open in March will help support our rapidly growing operations.”
“We at Cleveland Hopkins are incredibly pleased with the increasingly diverse mix of business and leisure destinations Frontier is adding for Northeast Ohio residents and visitors alike,” said Bryant L. Francis, C.M., Director of Port Control.
The aforementioned special, introductory fares from $19 must be purchased by Saturday, February 16, at midnight ET.
