Frontier Airlines Reports Record Revenue for 2024

Frontier Airlines reported its fourth-quarter and full-year 2024 financial results on Friday, revealing record revenue for the ultra-low-cost carrier.

Total operating revenues were $1 billion, a record for any quarter in Frontier's history and 12 percent higher than the comparable 2023 quarter. Meanwhile, full-year 2024 revenue reached a record $3.8 billion, 5 percent higher than the previous year.

Frontier also reported that revenue per available seat mile (RASM) for the final quarter of 2024 was 10.23 cents, 15 percent higher than the comparable 2023 quarter.

The budget carrier also achieved a 99.4 percent completion factor in December 2024, which ranked second among all major domestic carriers.

As far as its fleet is concerned, Frontier took delivery of six Airbus A321neo aircraft during the fourth quarter. The more fuel-efficient A320neo family aircraft now comprise 82 percent of Frontier's fleet as of December 31, 2024, the highest of all major U.S. carriers.

"Our revenue and network initiatives contributed to record fourth-quarter revenue, setting us on a trajectory for significant year-over-year RASM growth in 2025 which underpins our target of achieving double-digit adjusted pre-tax margins in the summer of 2025," CEO Barry Biffle said in a statement. "I'm proud of Team Frontier for their contributions to these results and commitment to supporting an exceptional customer experience and the best overall value in air travel."

Looking ahead, Frontier said that it "expects continued disciplined capacity allocation between peak and off-peak days to align with travel demand patterns and contribute to revenue and RASM growth in 2025."

Friday's news caps off a busy week for the carrier, which announced three new routes in the U.S. and Caribbean as well as new packaged travel offerings with the launch of Frontier Vacations.
