Los Angeles
International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the country, is planning
to change the terminal
numbers and rename its departure gates.
This has the
potential for mass confusion.
For instance, the current Terminal 3
will still be called Terminal 3 but will have different primary residents. Terminal
9, which is still in the planning stages, will become Terminal 8. Terminal 1
and Concourse 0 will be combined to become the new Terminal 1.

Terminals 2 and 3
will be combined and will become Terminal 2. Hey, didn’t the English band
Genesis have a hit song in the 1980s named ‘Land of Confusion?’ They might have
to change the name or bring back Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford to work their
magic.
The International
Terminal, named after former Mayor Tom Bradley, will simply become Terminal 3. And Terminal 8 will be folded into Terminal 7.
Got all that?
The gates will also
be renumbered, starting at 1 in each terminal. Of course, it could
be worse. You could be like Oakland and change the name of the entire airport to
include the word ‘San Francisco’ in the official title.
