Los Angeles International Airport is about to get more delicious.
Shake Shack, one of a few reasons on this earth that make it OK to cheat on your diet, is coming to LAX on June 28.
A press release shares that it will make its debut at Terminal 3, which should make those traveling by way of Delta Air Lines fat and giggly.
For anyone who has ever had a Shake Shack burger, the news comes as an added treat. For those who haven't, you can thank HMSHost-which will operate the location in conjunction with a partnership between Westfield and Los Angeles World Airports-for your newfound love affair.
Shake Shack Vice President of Global Licensing Michael Kark expounds on the news via release, reminding Angelenos and tourists that this isn't the first Southern California location for the brand.
Kark states: "We've built such a strong community in LA since we opened our first Shack last year at West Hollywood. We've always had hopes for an LAX restaurant and are thrilled that it's becoming a reality. We're excited to share the Shake Shack experience with even more Angelenos and with travelers from around the world."
LAWA Deputy Executive Director/Chief of External Affairs, Trevor Daley, is also enthusiastic, especially for the prospects this brings the airport: "We're raising the bar for what's possible at an airport and with the help of our partners we're adding Shake Shack to our list of delicious LAX eats that guests will be able to enjoy. Shake Shack will redefine the travel experience and will surely become an LAX must-stop spot."
Some like to compare this fare to that of another iconic burger restaurant, one with a hometown advantage: In-N-Out.
LAX travelers through Terminal 3 will have a unique opportunity to sample both on the way to their destination.
There is an In-N-Out location just on the corner before entering the airport at 9149 S Sepulveda Blvd.
There used to even be a way to get there from the airport for free. Sadly, the used and abused shuttle service got wise to the practice and shut things down.
Still, you can now stop by, get a Double-Double and head to your gate where you can sample a Shake Shack menu item, breakfast sandwich or even coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters.

Eater LA noted the airport has been doing its part to overhaul its cuisine offerings. In recent years it has added the French dip fare from Cole's, delicacies from Michael Voltaggio's ink.sack, eclectic items from The Border Grill and a juicy burger from The Habit.
Now it adds one of the country's more beloved burgers in Shake Shack. Sadly, this means you may need to order another seat on the plane after devouring all these calories.
