Southwest Airlines has announced an extension of its flight schedule, now allowing travelers to book flights through November 1, 2025. The major airline is adding new nonstop routes and increasing service in key cities across the U.S. and beyond. Passengers can now book their trips through this fall on Southwest.com.
Expanding San Diego Service
With the anticipated debut of a new terminal at San Diego International Airport, Southwest is ramping up service in the Southern California city. Starting October 2, 2025, several seasonal routes from America’s Finest City will return to the airline’s schedule. Additionally, Southwest will introduce a new daily nonstop flight between San Diego and Fresno, California. Travelers heading to Florida will also have more flexibility, as Southwest is increasing service between San Diego and Tampa. The route, previously limited to Saturdays, will now operate Thursdays through Mondays.
Ramping Up Austin Service
Austin travelers can expect a major boost in service this fall. Southwest is set to operate up to 128 flights per day from the Texas capital during peak travel days in October 2025—the highest number of daily departures the airline has ever offered from the city. As part of this expansion, the airline will launch new nonstop service between Austin and Jacksonville, Florida, running Sunday through Friday, beginning October 2, 2025.
Spring Brings Fresh Flight Options
Several previously announced routes will officially take off next month, giving travelers even more choices. Beginning March 6, 2025, Southwest will introduce new nonstop flights on the following routes:
- Austin, Texas – Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Weekdays)
- Austin, Texas – Reno, Nevada (Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays; daily service starts June 5)
- Nashville, Tennessee – Indianapolis, Indiana (Daily)
- Sacramento, California – Tucson, Arizona (Weekends)
More Spring Break Selections
Spring break travelers looking for an international escape will have even more options in 2025. Beginning March 8, Southwest will launch new Saturday-only nonstop flights between Nashville and two popular vacation destinations—Punta Cana and Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos—complementing the existing international service between Nashville and Cancun.
Also starting March 8, Southwest will introduce Saturday nonstop flights between Sacramento and Puerto Vallarta, joining the airline’s existing service between Sacramento and Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos.
