Southwest Airlines is making it easier for its customers in Hawaii to earn free flights.
The newly transformed low-cost carrier announced this week that it has enhanced its Ohana Rewards program, allowing members to earn a minimum of 1,000 Rapid Rewards points for every one-way inter-island flight.
One-way inter-island flights can be booked for as few as 4,000 Rapid Rewards points, meaning members can fly for free after just four one-way flights.
Ohana Rewards is part of Southwest's Rapid Rewards program and available to members who live in Hawaii.
In addition to the new Fly Four, Earn One benefit, Ohana Rewards members can look forward to two free checked bags on all inter-island flights and quarterly inter-island discount promo codes, as well as no blackout dates on reward flights and perks for up to eight passengers traveling on the same reservation.
"With up to 50 inter-island flights a day, our service brings more convenient connections between the People of Hawaii and the experiences that matter most to them," Southwest's EVP Chief Customer & Brand Officer Tony Roach said in a statement.
Southwest has been serving Hawaii for nearly eight years and now offers nearly 90 flights a day to, from and between the islands.
