In an agreement that will likely please all vested parties, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has cut a deal with Verizon Communications to be its new technology provider.
The deal could be worth up to $2.4 billion if the FAA complete the 15-year contract.
When the system broke down earlier this year, many stakeholders, including the airlines and Congress, Causing outbound flights to be delayed almost half a day, called for a new system and an increase in the FAA budget.
It appears that critics got their wish.

Verizon said it plans to modernize all of the FAA’s technologies and applications.
The FAA clearly went with the top telecommunications company, although such companies as AT&T still exist and can easily take over the contract.
