Boeing's dedication to giving passengers a positive experience in the company's planes is unwavering, and recently announced lighting innovations should have frequent flyers excited about the future of aviation.
According to Boeing's official website, the company's commercial airplanes product development engineers are designing aircraft with new accent lighting throughout the cabin and even developing projections of light and imagery on the ceiling, walls and bulkheads.
Boeing also released an amazing video highlighting some of the proposed technological changes:
The lighting upgrades shown in the video make even the economy class portion of the plane look classy and relaxing. Add in the visual representations of the stars on the ceiling and the random color pulsations, and the new lighting will be something that would make sleeping during a flight even easier.
Boeing Vice President Mike Sinnett released a statement about the recent innovations:
"These ceiling projections could be scenes found in nature or helpful information for passengers projected on the walls and bulkheads. Airlines could use these lighting enhancements on the walls and bulkheads to display information about the destination or to project scenes that get passengers thinking about where they're going. The possibilities are endless about how this technology could be used. Airlines are looking to us to provide these kinds of innovations. That's why we're constantly looking at tomorrow's technology today."
