Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday it will be expanding its Italian network from Atlanta with the addition of summer seasonal service.
The once-daily flights will be from Atlanta to both Milan and Venice and join the already planned summer journeys from New York City to Venice and Detroit to Rome.
The airline is also adding a second daily nonstop flight from Atlanta to Rome next week that will operate year-round. Delta will now serve up to seven flights a day from the United States to three airports in Italy this summer.
Passengers booking flights to Italy this summer with Delta will have several new amenities and services to enjoy, including Delta One passengers choosing their meal in advance and main cabin travelers receiving new menu cards, service wear and a complimentary glass of Italian-produced Prosecco sparkling wine.
Delta has also ensured a smoother journey through Rome's Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport with its move from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3. The move puts the carrier closer to departures from E Gates, meaning travelers now have a much shorter walk to their connecting flight.
The terminal changes allow passengers to have more time to explore a wide variety of retail outlets and restaurants, as well as take advantage of the Italian airport's free Wi-Fi.
