The capital city of South Australia, Adelaide, will host this year's annual Tourism Australia MICE Conference, according to Tourism Australia.
Also known as Dreamtime, the country's top trade event draws a plethora of the world's top travel buyers, including agents and companies that book incentive programs.
The decision followed a competitive race to win the bid and was announced by the Adelaide Convention Bureau. Adelaide is certainly deserving of the bid considering it landed on Lonely Planet's list of the top 10 cities to visit in 2014.
"While Melbourne and Sydney have competed for attention, Adelaide has transformed itself into the perfect host city," states Lonely Planet.
Adelaide ranked ninth on the list.
As far as what's ahead, the week-long Dreamtime conference features a tour of the host city that includes several meetings with local tourism and business event operators and then three-day educational visits to other Australian destinations as smaller groups to conclude the event.
"Adelaide is perfectly positioned on a global scale for major conventions off the back of the unprecedented level of infrastructure both completed and nearing completion," said Adelaide Convention Bureau chief executive Damien Kitto.
"Adelaide has never been more equipped to shine in the spotlight of Dreamtime."

Meanwhile, Tourism Australia Managing Director John O'Sullivan pointed out that the conference is critical to the country's future industry targets and to grow the sector to a monumental $16 billion annually by 2020.
"Dreamtime is Australia's largest business events showcase, which allows us to connect with qualified buyers from markets including Greater China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, New Zealand, USA and the United Kingdom," said O'Sullivan.
"We truly believe Adelaide and South Australia provide the perfect gateway for our key international buyers to experience a fantastic array of experiences and destinations on offer in Australia-and it's the perfect time for the city to show its new developments."
While dates for the conference have yet to be determined, the event will take place sometime in early December 2015.
