Carnival Cruise Line is adding 20 cruises to Cuba from Tampa aboard Carnival Paradise in 2019. That number is in addition to the already-announced 11 cruises on the ship. Carnival Sensation will also sail 17 Cuba itineraries from Miami in 2019.
It’s a sign of increasing public interest in experiencing the island nation by cruise.
“Our Cuba cruises have been met with phenomenal guest response since we began sailing to the island last year and we’re thrilled to add yet another 20 voyages to this fascinating and sought-after destination,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
The new five-day Carnival Paradise voyages will depart Tampa on Saturdays. They feature a day-long or a full day and overnight call in Havana, plus stops at Key West and Cozumel.
Five-cruises with overnights in Havana and calls at Key West depart in March, April, May, June, July, September and October of 2019.
Six voyages with day-long Havana calls plus visits to Cozumel depart in January, March, May, August, November and December of 2019.
And four sailings with day-long Havana calls and visits to both Key West and Cozumel depart in February, June, July and October of 2019.
The line offers nearly 20 shore excursions in Cuba that advance the US Government’s “People to People” guidelines. During the cruise, a Cuba expert discusses the country’s history and culture. And, the onboard experience also includes Cuban-themed activities and entertainment. (Salsa lessons, anyone?)
Carnival Paradise recently emerged from a multi-million-dollar refurbishment. Newly-added are a water park, 38 additional cabins and 98 new balconies. New food and beverage concepts include Guy’s Burger Joint, developed with Food Network star Guy Fieri, the poolside RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar and the BlueIguana Cantina Mexican eatery. Also new is a Camp Ocean marine-themed play area and a nine-hole miniature golf course.
