EXPLORA III is one step closer to making her debut.
The new ship has successfully completed sea trials in the Mediterranean, a process that validated the vessel’s technical and operational performance ahead of her Mediterranean prelude journey on July 24.
Explora Journeys has almost reached the halfway point of its planned six-ship fleet, with EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II both sailing and EXPLORA IV, EXPLORA V and EXPLORA VI under construction.
After sea trials, the ship returned to Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard near Genoa for interior outfitting and final finishing touches. The vessel, which is the first LNG-powered ship in the fleet, is on track for delivery ahead of schedule.
After the Mediterranean prelude journey, the ship will arrive in Barcelona for her official naming ceremony on August 1. Two days later, she’ll embark on her seven-night maiden journey to Lisbon.
“The completion of EXPLORA III’s sea trials marks another proud milestone for Explora Journeys as we continue to bring our long-term fleet vision to life,” said Anna Nash,[resident of Explora Journeys. “EXPLORA III represents the next phase in our growth and reflects our continued commitment to thoughtful innovation, exceptional guest experiences and a conscious approach to luxury ocean travel… This summer, Explora Journeys will have three ships sailing—a significant milestone that reflects the strength of our vision and the remarkable momentum behind the brand.”
