Travelers now have one more reason to embrace the sharing economy.
Carnival Corporation's social impact travel brand Fathom announced that it has partnered with home-sharing platform Airbnb in a move that will benefit new hosts.
Fathom said that beginning Friday people who sign up as hosts on Airbnb will be able to receive a $250 credit for a seven-day Fathom cruise to either the Dominican Republic or Cuba.
To be eligible for the coupon, hosts must list a U.S.-based property, keep the new listing active for at least 30 days and complete at least four nights of qualifying reservations for the new listing by the end of 2016. New hosts must also list via the promotional link and complete the Verified ID process.

"We love that Airbnb offers a marketplace of unforgettable experiences curated by their host community all over the world," said Tara Russell, president of Fathom and global impact lead for Carnival Corporation, in a statement. "In many ways, we share that same passion and deliver new memories. Today's consumers want to have unique, immersive experiences, and I'm excited that we can now creatively make this possible even further through this natural partnership."
Not including taxes, fees or port expenses, prices for the seven-day Fathom trips to the Dominican Republic start at $499 per person (inside cabin), while prices for Fathom's seven-day cruises to Cuba begin at $1,899 per person.
Both roundtrip cruises from Miami will allow passengers to interact with locals and assist in addressing community needs.
Fathom's coveted cruise to Cuba includes stops in port cities Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.
