Micky Arison Selling 10 Million Shares of Carnival Stock

Carnival Corp. Chairman Micky Arison is selling up to 10 million shares of Carnival common stock, the company announced. The shares represent about 1 percent of the total voting rights of Carnival Corporation & plc. Arison said he is selling for tax planning, estate planning and diversification purposes.

Of the 10 million shares, 5 million were sold on Feb. 28 for $39.50 per share. The remaining 5 million shares will be sold over the next 15 months. If all shares are sold, the Arison family and related entities will still own about 188 million shares, or about 24 percent of the total combined voting rights of Carnival Corp. & plc.
