MSC Cruises is repositioning the MSC Meraviglia from New York City to Miami, canceling five months of sailings from the original port beginning in the fall of 2026.
The ship was initially expected to sail in New York City in the fall of 2026 and into 2027, according to Cruise Critic.
An MSC spokesperson responded to our request for information, saying that the cruise ship will now offer 6-night to 8-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas from its new cruise terminal at PortMiami, joining the MSC World America, MSC Poesia and MSC Seaside this winter.
Those currently booked on an itinerary during the impacted dates will be notified by the cruise line and given several options: to rebook on the ship’s new Caribbean itineraries, to choose a different cruise from other U.S. homeports, to receive a future cruise credit, or receive a refund for the cost of their cruise.
“We are continuously evaluating our U.S. and global deployment strategy to align with guest demand and travel trends,” MSC’s statement reads. “New York remains an important market for us, and we will continue to assess opportunities based on demand and operational priorities.”
There is currently no ship replacing the MSC Meraviglia’s presence in New York City.
