Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled the entertainment lineup for its newest ship, Norwegian Aura, including a new production spotlighting the music of Whitney Houston.

“Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston” was developed in partnership with The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and Primary Wave Music. The 45-minute show will feature live vocals, a live band, visual effects and performances that extend beyond the main stage of the ship’s three-story Aura Theatre & Club.

The production will feature Houston hits like “It’s Not Right, But It’s OK,” “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).” Houston sold more than 220 million records worldwide and earned six Grammy Awards during her career.

“We are thrilled to partner with Norwegian Cruise Line to present ‘Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston’ for the debut of the Norwegian Aura in May 2027,” says Pat Houston, executor of The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and president of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation. “Whitney enjoyed cruises. Her fans and supporters will have a nostalgic experience enjoying the extraordinary artistry and live music of Whitney Houston, performed by world-class musicians while sailing on the high seas.”

The show is part of a broader entertainment lineup created for Norwegian Aura, which will debut in May 2027.

The ship also will feature “ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed,” a 45-minute production combining illusions, acrobatics, original music and visual effects. The show will take place in the Aura Theatre & Club.

Norwegian Aura also will introduce “The Vinyl Republic,” a live music collective spanning country, rock, funk, blues and pop. The group will headline two shows in the Aura Theatre & Club: “The Vinyl Republic’s Journey Through Rock,” featuring songs from Journey and the arena rock era, and “The Vinyl Republic’s Kickin’ It Country,” a late-night country party with live music and line dancing.

The Vinyl Republic also will perform throughout the ship, including in the Penrose Atrium and at Improv at Sea.

“LunaTique: Pop Circus,” an adults-only combination of cabaret, circus performances and nightlife, also will return after debuting aboard Norwegian Luna. The experience will feature new acts and music and will be available for an additional fee, with cocktails paired with each performance.

Other entertainment offerings aboard Norwegian Aura will include “Aura FIRST NIGHT,” a welcome showcase introducing the ship’s entertainment lineup, and “Latin LIVE!,” a poolside celebration featuring live percussionists, vocalists, dancers and Latin music.

“Every new ship is an opportunity for Norwegian Cruise Line to push the boundaries of what entertainment at sea can be,” says Bryan White, vice president of entertainment production at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Following the success of our Prince and Elton John productions on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, respectively, this new show reimagines Whitney’s legendary catalog through contemporary arrangements, dynamic storytelling, stunning visuals and powerful live performances.”

Norwegian Aura is scheduled to begin service with a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain, on May 21, 2027. The itinerary will include calls in Valletta, Malta, and Salerno and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. The ship will then sail a 13-day transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami before beginning its Caribbean season.

From June through October 2027, Norwegian Aura will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises calling at Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic; St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola in the British Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, which will feature the new Great Tides Waterpark.

During winter 2027-28, the ship will sail seven-day Western Caribbean itineraries with calls at Roatan, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, Norwegian Cruise Line’s private destination in Belize.
