Norwegian Cruise Line has announced plans to cancel months' worth of sailings aboard four ships in 2026 and 2027.
According to USA Today, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Dawn will swap homeports in Florida between November 2026 and March 2027, resulting in "modified and enhanced itineraries" that will feature more stops at NCL's revamped private island destination in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay.
"Norwegian Gem will sail Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Tampa, Florida, ranging from four to 11-day itineraries offering a wider variety of options for guests," NCL said in a statement to USA Today, also confirming that "Norwegian Dawn will sail shorter voyages to the Bahamas from Jacksonville, Florida."
Meanwhile, the cruise line cited "port availability" for the decision to cancel several sailings on Norwegian Getaway between November 2026 and December 2026 and additional itineraries aboard Norwegian Joy in December 2026.

"The new sailings will feature more immersive itineraries to the Caribbean and the Bahamas for guests looking for longer cruises during the holiday season," Norwegian added, noting that bookings will open "in the near future."
Impacted guests will receive a full refund in addition to a 10 percent future cruise credit.
"We are committed to providing exceptional vacation experiences, both aboard our ships and by taking our guests to some of the most sought-out destinations around the world," said NCL. "While we try to maintain original itineraries as much as possible, at times modifications are made to optimize voyages to meet guest demand or due to changing port availability."
This week's news comes just two months after NCL announced a significant schedule shakeup involving Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Breakaway as part of a "fleet redeployment" for the 2026 season.
