Norwegian Encore is getting a makeover.
The Norwegian Cruise Line ship will enter dry dock later this year, where crews will refresh the interiors and add some new spaces for travelers to enjoy.
“Our guests’ wants and needs are at the forefront of every decision that we make, and enhancing Norwegian Encore with more of the experiences they value showcases our commitment to just that,” says David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line.
The 3,958-guest ship will enter dry dock for two weeks from November 18 to December 2. During that time, crews will replace the laser tag arena with a new adults-only outdoor area called Spice H20. The free lounge will be tucked away from the main pool deck and will have an elevated layout and design created in partnership with Studio Dado. Guests ages 18 and up will be able to enjoy multiple hot tubs, large day beds, cooling pools and a large bar serving cocktails.
The renovation will also include the expansion of Cagney Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, two of Norwegian’s most popular dining venues. Teppanyaki will take over Los Lobos on deck eight and Coco’s on deck six. Ocean Blue will also be replaced with Palomar, a restaurant serving elevated Mediterranean seafood.
The premier owner’s suites with large balconies onboard Norwegian Encore will be expanded from two bedrooms to three bedrooms. This is a response to the growing demand for three-bedroom suites onboard Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva and Norwegian Joy.
The suites—which are located within Norwegian’s ship-within-a-ship concept, The Haven—will also be renovated to include 3.5 bathrooms and a new separate dining room. The living room, master bedroom and outdoor balcony will also get new furnishings.
In addition, crews will also add 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms within The Haven, similar to the refurbishments completed on Norwegian Joy.
“From more space for adults to relax, to more opportunities to enjoy their favorite dining options and beyond, we are dedicated to providing our guests with an elevated onboard experience as part of their dream vacation,” says Herrera.
