Norwegian Cruise Line plans to introduce new and expanded guest experiences aboard Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway.
Both ships will be updated to incorporate new activities and spaces, such as a cinema and dining experience called Silver Screen Bistro and an outdoor recreation concept called Horizon Park. In addition, the cruise line plans to extend popular dining venues like Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, as well as expand accommodations like The Haven by Norwegian.
Norwegian Bliss will enter dry dock from January 17 to February 2, before the ship launches its Caribbean season. Norwegian Breakaway, meanwhile, will undergo updates from February 19 to March 14, before heading to Europe.
“At Norwegian Cruise Line, our guests and what they value most is critical in order for us to develop experiences. Our goal is to provide them their very own best vacation,” says David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From creating new concepts that offer more outdoor gathering spaces for making memories with friends and family, to expanding dining options that consistently bring joy to our guests across our fleet, we’re providing more to do and more to enjoy for all types of travelers.”
Horizon Park is a brand new venue that will be added to be both ships. Located on the top deck, this outdoor gathering space will feature lawn-style games like cornhole and giant Jenga, plus reclining loungers for sunbathing.
Crews will also update the accommodations in The Haven by Norwegian, the line’s ship-within-a-ship offering. Norwegian Bliss’s premiere owner’s suites with large balconies will be renovated to include three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a separate dining room and fully refurbished living areas, master bedrooms and outdoor balcony furnishings. The ship will also gain 24 additional balcony staterooms and two additional club balcony staterooms.
Other changes to Norwegian Bliss include: an expanded Cagney’s Steakhouse, replacing Los Lobos; an expanded Teppanyaki, replacing Coco’s; and the introduction of Palomar, the elevated seafood specialty dining restaurant that premiered on Norwegian Prima, replacing Ocean Blue.
Norwegian Breakaway will see the introduction of Silver Screen Bistro, a movie and dining venue that will replace the Spiegel Tent. Guests will be able to enjoy oversized recliners and retractable tables and shareable handheld menu items.
Additional updates to Norwegian Breakaway include: the debut The Stadium, the free outdoor activities concept with family-friendly games; the expansion of Cagney’s Steakhouse, replacing Moderno Churrascaria; and the launch of Palomar, replacing Ocean Blue. The adults-only Vibe Beach Club and The Haven Sundeck will also be expanded.
