Luxury expedition line, PONANT EXPLORATIONS, opened its 2028 Arctic season for booking, offering over 35 voyages to the Far North.
The cruise line will operate the voyages from May through October across four ships, including the icebreaking expedition ship, Le Commandant Charcot.
Eight of the departures will be The Geographic North Pole voyage aboard Le Commandant Charcot. This 18-night itinerary includes flights between Paris and Longyearbyen, explorations through Svalbard, a visit to the North Pole and two exclusive stops in northern Greenland.
Greenland, the Baffin Sea and the Northwest Passage itinerary will be offered from May through August, exploring Greenland’s High Arctic, the Thule region, Disko Bay, Baffin Bay and more.
A special Svalbard program will be offered from June through July 2028, featuring a seven-night itinerary that sails a full circumnavigation of Spitsbergen and explores protected nature reserves in Svalbard.
PONANT EXPLORATIONS’ June and July itineraries will feature destination-focused explorations of Iceland. The voyages will include a full day in Reykjavik, along with visits to the remote islands of Grimsey and Heimaey.
Lastly, PONANT will sail to North America from August through October, offering visits to Canadian and northeastern United States ports, such as L’Anse aux Meadows, Quebec, Martha’s Vineyard, Gros Morne National Park and more.
