WHY IT RATES: A major cruise company has made a key personnel change. –Sarah Kuta, TravelPulse writer
Today, PONANT announced the appointment of industry veteran José Roncero as the Director of Business Development – Latin America.
Based in Mexico City, Roncero will leverage his more than 15 years of experience in the luxury travel and cruise industry to oversee and enhance the sales strategy and market engagement for PONANT and Paul Gauguin Cruises in the Latin American region.
“We are excited to welcome José to our team and believe his extensive experience and deep industry knowledge will provide direction and support to our valued Latin America travel partners as we expand our presence for both PONANT and Paul Gauguin Cruises in this important market,” said Samuel Chamberlain, CEO Americas, PONANT.

Most recently, Roncero worked as the Director of Business Development – LATAM at Azamara Cruises, where he oversaw the regional sales and marketing strategy to grow the regional business.
He also held senior roles at Virtuoso, where he served as the Regional Director – Latin America & Caribbean for seven years and Royal Caribbean International, as a Sales Executive in Mexico.
