The next time you set sail on Costa Cruises' Costa Diadema you'll be accompanied by a rather unique guest.
The Italian cruise line has announced that humanoid robot "Pepper" has gone live on its largest ship.
Located in five areas of the Dream-class vessel, the robots utilize a high-level interface as well as voice and facial recognition capabilities to greet passengers passing by and to provide entertainment if in the mood.
Those who are interested can ask Pepper questions and even pose for a selfie. Pepper is able to answer questions about the ship, on-board services and destinations.

For younger passengers, Pepper can dance and initiate games.
In addition to Italian, Pepper speaks English and French and is able to sense when someone is near.
"Our goal is to amaze people who choose to spend their holidays with us and to go beyond their expectations and offer something unforgettable," Costa Cruises president Neil Palomba told Seatrade Cruise News, adding that interacting with Pepper is "an incredible experience."
Costa Cruises will add five more Pepper robots on the Costa Fascinosa this coming September.
Pepper's debut is part of a agreement signed between Costa Cruises and SoftBank Robotics last year.
