In celebration of its shore excursion program's brand new offerings, Royal Caribbean International has announced that it will offer free shore excursions on all bookings made from Aug. 14 through Aug. 16.
Plus, travelers who book reservations for cruises departing Sept. 14 or later will receive a credit of up to $150 to put toward a shore excursion purchase.
Royal Caribbean revealed that it's decided to group its more than 2,800 shore excursions into seven categories: Active Adventures; Family Connections; Royal Tour Challenge; Culture and Sights; Culinary Delights; Caring Discoveries and the Royal Premium Tour Collection.
The Active Adventures shore excursions are ideal for thrill-seeking passengers, with ziplining and dune buggying among the many activities offered.
Meanwhile, Family Connections consists of slightly less intense activities designed for the entire family to participate in together.
The Royal Tour Challenge features shore excursions with an emphasis on competition. From laser tag in Cozumel, Mexico to five-on-five soccer in Gijon, Spain, this category is geared toward sports fans and guests looking to compete in a unique setting.
Culture and Sights and Culinary Delights are both exactly as they sound. The former is aimed at guests seeking to learn more about a particular place's history and culture, while the latter represents a foodie's paradise.
Perhaps the most unique category, Caring Discoveries is comprised of shore excursions that allow travelers to leave a positive impact on the environment and local communities they explore. For example, guests stopping in Cozumel will be able to help preserve the local sea turtle population.
What's more, Royal Caribbean offers both exciting and relaxing shore excursions in a pair of exclusive private destinations: Labadee, Haiti and CocoCay, Bahamas.
