Allure of the Seas is getting a $100 million makeover.

The Royal Caribbean International ship, which first debuted in 2010, will undergo a major refurbishment that’s scheduled to be completed in April 2025. Once the work is finished, Allure of the Seas will offer 7-night cruises in the western Mediterranean departing from Barcelona.

"Allure will be reimagined with the best of Royal Caribbean and what travelers love,” says Jay Schneider, chief product innovation officer for Royal Caribbean International.

Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, initially mentioned the refurbishment on an earnings call in February but did not share many details. Now, Royal Caribbean International is unveiling more information about the renovation.

The newly renovated Allure of the Seas will feature 35 food and beverage concepts, including the Pesky Parrot tiki bar, which debuted to rave reviews on Utopia of the Seas. The ship will also feature the 10-story Ultimate Abyss dry slide, racing waterslides, resort-style pools, an escape room and more.

Crews will also add Ultimate Panoramic Suites above the bridge, complete with 200-degree panoramic views, floor-to-ceiling windows and more than 900 square feet of living space. The suites, which are currently offered on Oasis of the Seas, also include exclusive Royal Suite Class amenities, like a “Royal Genie” concierge.

Royal Caribbean most recently refurbished Oasis of the Seas in 2019. Since then, it’s also introduced new ships Odyssey of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas, Icon of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas.

Next spring and summer, Allure of the Seas will be one of six Royal Caribbean ships sailing in Europe. In November 2025, the ship will head across the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale, where it will offer 6- to 8-night vacations to the eastern Caribbean and The Bahamas.
