Norwegian Cruise Line is preparing to deploy its newest ships from convenient North American homeports and beyond.
During the fall and winter of 2019 and 2020, the Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida, South America, Canada and New England will all receive the prized fleet with many of the brand's latest vessels based in a new city.
"We are delighted to unveil this curated rich mix of our guests' favorite itineraries with new deployment to exotic destinations that will bring new ships and new experiences to almost all of our homeports," said Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer for Norwegian Cruise Line, in a press release.
"Whether a guest has sailed with us many times in the past or they are a first-time cruiser, there is something new for everyone to experience in 2019 and 2020 aboard a Norwegian cruise."
Bahamas & Florida
The brand new Norwegian Bliss will first emerge during 2018 to sail seasonally in Alaska and the Caribbean. It will also depart from New York for the Bahamas in winter of 2019-20, leading the youngest fleet to the destination. There will be 18 warm weather escapes in total, including seven- and eight-day sailings to the Bahamas and Florida, plus 12- and 14-day voyages to the Southern and Western Caribbean.
The Bliss will begin weeklong cruising from Manhattan November 24, 2019, calling on Port Canaveral and Nassau, Bahamas; as well as Great Stirrup Cay, which is being updated with a zip-line, luxurious area for Haven guests and more. Norwegian's private island has also seen recent enhancements that make it a beautiful paradise.
Also heading to the Bahamas and Florida will be Norwegian Gem for the holiday season on an eight-day voyage from New York December 13, 2019. The special route will feature an overnight stay in Port Canaveral for two days of Orlando access as well as Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau, Bahamas.
Meanwhile, the Norwegian Dawn will head from Tampa to the Bahamas on a five-day journey January 16, 2020. Ports of call will be Nassau, Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay and less frequented Key West, Florida.
Caribbean
The mainstay of the Caribbean will be covered by the Norwegian Bliss December 1, 2019, on a 12-day southerly trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Basseterre, St. Kitts; Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, St. Lucia and St. John's, Antigua. Another 14-day variant on January 19, 2020, will additionally visit Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
A pair of westerly 14-day routes will depart on January 5 and February 2, 2020. The Bliss will call on Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; as well as Harvest Caye, Belize-Norwegian's other exclusive island experience.
Passengers will also have the choice to leave from New Orleans aboard the Norwegian Breakaway in 2018 and the Norwegian Getaway during 2019.
As the largest and newest ship sailing from the Big Easy, the Getaway will showcase seven-, nine- and 12-day Western Caribbean voyages starting November 8, 2019. The weeklong cruises will include Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras and Harvest Caye, Belize.
Nine-day sailings will go to Costa Maya, Mexico; Harvest Caye, Belize; Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras; George Town, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Twelve-day voyages will head towards Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras and Harvest Caye, Belize.
Travelers can also sail to San Juan aboard the Norwegian Epic-the youngest and largest home-porting in Puerto Rico-from December 8, 2018, to March 15, 2019. Its weeklong Southern Caribbean cruises will sail to Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao; Kralendijk, Bonaire; Castries, St. Lucia and Basseterre, St. Kitts.
10 and 11-day varieties will also go to Bridgetown, Barbados; St. John's, Antigua; Philipsburg, St. Maarten and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
South America
Rounding out the extensive itinerariesare those going to South America onboard the Norwegian Star-set to replace the older and smaller Norwegian Sun in the destination starting in December 2019.
Two-week-long sailings will depart Santiago (San Antonio), Chile on December 21, January 18 and February 15 for the east and Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 4, February 1 and February 29 for the west.
Ports encompass Puerto Montt, Puerto Chacabuco and Punta Arenas, Chile; Stanley, Falkland Islands; Montevideo, Uruguay and Puerto Madryn and Ushuaia, Argentina. Passages include the Patagonic Channels, Chilean Fjords, Strait of Magellan, Beagle Channel, Canal Moraleda and Cape Horn.
All the itineraries go on sale for returning guests on January 17, 2018 and for the general public on January 18.
