Get ready to get to know Guyana.
The Guyana Tourism Authority has formed an official partnership with several organizations to promote the South American country in the U.S. and Canada.
Guyana has joined forces with Emerging Destinations and Green Team Global, who will represent the country in the U.S. and Canada, and CornerSun Destination Marketing and Small Planet Consulting will join in introducing and promoting Guyana to the North American travel industry.
All entities will work together to drive awareness about travel to Guyana and showcase the country as a must-see destination-which is exactly what the country is. For the experiential traveler, Guyana offers access to vibrant indigenous culture, a rich history, hospitable people and a natural landscape filled with beauty, pristine rainforest, world-class waterfalls and amazing wildlife.
It is the only English-speaking country in South America, making it easy to navigate for U.S. and Canadian travelers, and it's also accessible with three nonstop flights from New York, Miami and Toronto daily.
"Entering the U.S. and Canadian markets are a critical component of Guyana's overall tourism strategy," said Brian Mullis, director of Guyana Tourism Authority. "We are confident in our newly formed key strategic alliances with Emerging Destinations and Green Team Global supported by CornerSun Destination Marketing and Small Planet Consulting to effectively bring this extraordinary destination to the North American travel industry. North America is one of our strongest markets with a travel culture yearning for authentic culture and nature/adventure experiences. Guyana is in a prime position to provide that."
The Guyana Tourism Authority is planning a roadshow visiting various locations around the U.S. and Canada that will spread the excitement about travel to the country.
