Popular Tourist Attraction Moved in Amsterdam
Destination & Tourism Janeen Christoff December 03, 2018

The Iamsterdam letters, one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, have been moved from Museumplein.
The letters have been one of Amsterdam's most photographed locales for over 14 years and have become a symbol of mass tourism.
The decision to move them was made by the left-wing green party GroenLinks, which says it doesn’t believe the individualism reflected by the slogan properly reflects a city that stands for solidarity and diversity.
Those looking to take photos of the letters will still be able to find them. The city owns five sets of Iamsterdam, and they can now be found at Schipol Airport, Sloterplas Lake in the west of the city and one in the southeast of the city.
Special hosts will be on-hand at Museumplein to direct tourists.
