Several incidents of poor behavior have resulted in Vietnam issuing a code of conduct for visitors, says Travel Wire Asia.

The new code basically asks visitors to employ common sense and obey the law.

"The code was introduced to remind visitors to obey local laws, respect historical landmarks, protect the environment, and to help first-timers blend in with local culture and habits," notes Sheryl Kaur in her report.

A recent report of visitors throwing rocks and urine at a gondola in Ho Chi Minh City apparently sparked the new warning.

"Incidences of poor behavior have been reported in tourist-heavy areas, including a recent report of visitors throwing rocks and bottles of urine at tourist gondolas crossing the city's Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe canal in Ho Chi Minh City," says Kaur.
