<p></em></p><p>World Tourism Day will officially be celebrated in Doha, Qatar. </p><p>The nation has worked dutifully to create a sustainable tourism plan with its Qatar National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030. It charts a path of sustainable development for the country as tourism grows at a steady pace in Qatar. </p><p>On World Tourism Day, it is announcing the next phase of its tourism journey. </p><p>[CALLOUT]</p><p><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lgEczMQE1kQ" width="560">##</iframe></p><p>The event will take place at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. </p><p>A day of celebration and discussion will be kicked off with a video message from Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, president of Malta and special ambassador of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. </p><p><strong>[READMORE]READ MORE: <a href="http://www.travelpulse.com/news/destinations/wto-announces-new-sustainable-tourism-campaign.html" target="_self">WTO Announces New Sustainable Tourism Campaign</a>[/READMORE]</strong></p><p>There will also be a keynote address on "Aviation's Role in Building Sustainable Tourism" from Akbar Al Baker of Qatar Airways. </p><p>The day will feature a variety of panels, including a think tank meeting on the topic of "tourism as a means for creating opportunities, enhancing cultural preservation and mutual understanding." CNN International's Max Foster will moderate the panel discussion.</p><p>Other panels include topics such as tourism and the planet and communicating the value of tourism for development. </p><p>International participants also have the chance to see how Qatar is dedicating itself to a sustainable future. A variety of tours include green architecture, art, sustainable living and the country's protected beauty.</p><p>The United Nations' World Tourism Organizations announced that 2017 would be the Year of Sustainable Tourism, a tool for development. </p><p>UNWTO invites citizens around the world to take the pledge toward a more sustainable future. </p><p><iframe frameborder="0" height="540px" src="https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/61912-pledge-to-travelenjoyrespect/embed" width="250px">##</iframe></p>
