Thousands descend upon San Diego this weekend. Many will be dressed in Star Wars garb, while others will pepper the Gaslamp with Marvel costumes. Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter went as Doof Warrior and Immortan Joe respectively.
The duo also enjoyed the accompaniment of Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band on a raucous road trip that went awry.
There are currently droves of nerds preparing to join the masses already in San Diego at the moment.
Count in the late-night talk show host who is holding court at the Spreckels Theatre for the remainder of the week.
To celebrate, O'Brien opened his show with a look at his road trip down Fury Road:
One of the time honored traditions at the con remains cosplay, featuring thousands of fans who go above and beyond to dress up as their favorite characters from all corners of pop culture.
O'Brien got into the act, embracing the madness-although we have to wonder if he needed any make-up. Perhaps that's just a lot of sunscreen on his face.
Even if you don't have the same kind of caravan, you are undoubtedly excited to head to the celebration of pure geekdom.
