Like a Westerosi schemer's schedule, producing Game of Thrones can be quite hectic.
HBO is giving fans of the hit show a taste of what is to come in season five with a documentary that illustrates the remarkable effort that goes into just one day of production on GoT.
In that amount of time cast and crew set up, explore and transform three distinct countries to look and feel like the universe conjured by George R.R. Martin.
What we get is a glimpse of brilliant locales and a small inkling as to the mammoth enterprise that is Game of Thrones.
Much like Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke, Croatia, Northern Ireland and Spain do their part in acting like true Westerosi characters:
Producer Chris Newman is just one of the people charged with getting the show up and running in multiple places at once.
In the video, he touches upon how the setting transforms so easily for the show, stating what makes Belfast such an integral part of the fictionalized universe: "Belfast remains the heart of the whole thing."
Newman continues, "It's a major city so we have all the things that a big film crew need, but you drive 20 minutes out of the city and you're in the heart of the countryside. It helps with the ancient feel of the show that the landscape has a feeling of being old. It's been worn down and eroded. And everything has that ancient feel to it no matter where you go. The woods feel old. The cliff tops feel old, and the moorlands certainly look old."
And in Sevilla we get a rare look at Alcazar palace. Normally teeming with tourists, it's shut off thanks to its transformation into Dorne's Water Gardens.
We all have to wait just a bit longer until the series resumes on April 12, when we get to see how cinematography, make-up design and brilliant acting change these destinations from places you can visit to locations that only live in dreams.
In catching up on our favorite fictionalized kingdom we couldn't help but find yet another level of respect and admiration for those working on the show.
And really, it makes working the wall seem like a delightful day in Dorne.
