It seems having people right next to you judging your entertainment selections isn't enough of a deterrent to negate people from watching The Other Woman.
The Huffington Post's Carla Herreria reports on some mighty interesting findings by Hawaiian Airlines. It seems the company did some digging and found the top five in-flight movies enjoyed by their passengers.
According to the report, the movies were enjoyed by "passengers flying on their North American routes to and from Hawaii."
As for the list, it begins with the Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton comedy and proceeds with Lone Survivor, Ride Along, The Lego Movie and 22 Jump Street wrapping up the top five.
There is absolutely no shame in watching The Lego Movie, because that's just a remarkable piece of cinematic fun right there.
As for the top of the heap, well:
OK, seeing the trailer, I have to admit that I kind of want to see this. Although I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it. It would have to be a scenario wherein I am strapped into a confined area and forced to stay put for a few hours with scant entertainment options at my disposal…aaaand we have our aha moment.
It seems stepping out onto vacation means more than packing away the Speedo and the flip-flops, because the nonchalance extends to how you decide to spend your time.
The same movie that garnered a 23% on Rotten Tomatoes seems to be the go-to flick for those about to enjoy a Hawaiian getaway, and it makes loads of sense.
The moment we go on holiday we shut off the brain, seeking out moments of pure idiotic bliss.
A quick look at another airline yields similar findings. News.com.au's Alison Stephenson reported in December on Qantas' own list of most-watched movie in 2014.
It's most popular cinematic fare is as follows:

3. Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier

5. The Other Woman
6. The Lego Movie

What we have here can be described as some grand, epic summer popcorn movies spliced with a bit of lighthearted comedies. Comic books, science fiction and little Lego characters reign supreme.
And there, clear on the other side of the world, is that movie featuring Diaz, Mann and Upton, like a comedy troupe dedicated to stimulating that meaty part of the brain that is under duress the second someone kicks the back of your airplane chair.
If that movie really is the sedative it seems to be, we say over order on the stupid comedies and bring back all things Adam Sandler, because idiotic films pair so well with air travel.
And don't ever feel guilty about watching similar movies, because it seems your neighbor is most likely watching the same exact thing.
