Following the impact Hurricane Irma had on Florida, the LEGOLAND Florida Resort will donate 18,000 theme park tickets to the UNICEF Kid Power Schools program and 2,000 tickets to Citrus Center Boys & Girls Clubs.
The donation of amusement park tickets is valued at more than $1.8 million and is in conjunction with Merlin's Magic Wand, the global charity of LEGOLAND's parent company Merlin Entertainments.
The first 18,000 tickets donated will go to the UNICEF Kid Power Schools Program, a teacher-led experience that incorporates both lessons and activities. Participating teachers will distribute two tickets per student, which is intended to allow each child to visit the LEGOLAND theme park with a parent or guardian.
The 2,000 tickets being donated to the Citrus Center Boys & Girls Clubs will be distributed to the children the organization serves in Winter Haven, Haines City and Lake Wales in Polk County, Florida.
"As a resort built for kids, we felt compelled to do something special for Florida's children after Hurricane Irma, which left so many households facing months of recovery," LEGOLAND general manager Rex Jackson said in a statement. "While we can't turn the power back on for those families, we can put smiles on their faces."

When the children finally visit LEGOLAND, they will find more than 50 rides, shows and attractions inspired by popular LEGO brands, including experiences based on The LEGO Movie, LEGO NINJAGO, LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS, LEGO City, LEGO Technic and LEGO Friends.
The LEGOLAND Florida Resort is also the home to a water park and on-site accommodations sure to brighten the days of the storm-battered state's youngest residents.
