London commuters will have a new toy to play with as automatic tube trains are rolled out in the next decade.
CNN's Jake Wallis Simons reports the next evolution for the underground will feature trains that allow full access through the cabin without the inconvenience that comes with multiple cars and doors.
Here is a brief look at what is to come via Transport for London:
Simons writes, "The fleet of 250 new trains will be "rolled out" in the mid-2020s, and are anticipated to remain in service for 40 years."
Unfortunately, the good news for travelers has to be met with a sizable amount of patience. But it seems that very good things will come to those who can wait a decade or so.

Priestmangoode designed the trains, and its director, Paul Priestman, spoke with CNN:
"London's Tube is one of the most iconic trains in the world. We are proud to have designed something that it is part of the very fabric of London life, celebrating all that's great about London's environment: cutting edge technology, rich history and diversity."
The trains feature a new cooling system as well as a brilliant walk-through design that increases the capacity that can be whisked about the city. Now you don't have to read too much between the lines to see the impetus behind the re-design.
Simon continues, "A new design was necessary to cope with the increasing demand. Transport for London (TfL) expects London's population to rise from its current level, about 8.4 million, to approximately 10 million by 2030."
You could cram as many bodies that would fit into the old design, or you could create something that would accommodate a booming populace. Thankfully, officials decided in favor of the latter.
Now we apologize, because your current commute might not seem all that special anymore. Chin up, because something new and far more spacious is on the way, so make like a traveler standing for a train and just wait a little longer.
