Officials from the Walt Disney World Resort announced that guests staying at one of the theme park's resorts will be charged for overnight parking starting on March 21.
According to the official website of Disney World, guests staying at a Disney resort will be charged for parking when they pay their hotel bill upon check-out. Visitors staying at campsites at the Fort Wilderness Resort will still be treated to complimentary standard parking.
Disney categorized the parking rates by resort category, including value resorts at $13 per night, moderate resorts at $19 per night, deluxe and deluxe villa resorts at $24 per night and deluxe resorts valet parking at $33 per night.
Parking at the Disney Resort hotels for the day will receive complimentary standard self-parking, and Disney Vacation Club Members staying at a deluxe villa will not be charged for standard overnight self-parking.
Travelers who make a reservation before March 21 will not be charged for overnight parking.
The parking rates for Disney theme parks in Orlando remains the same, with preferred parking totaling $45 per day, standard parking at $22 per day and oversized vehicle parking at $27 per day.
In February, officials announced admission prices for Disney World and Disneyland increased once again. The change to peak, regular and value tickets, as well as annual passes for residents and non-residents, came after the cost of parking at Disney jumped from $20 to $22 per day and from $40 to $45 per day for preferred parking.
