The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, are preparing for an exhaustive tour of some of India's most iconic locations.

And as you will soon see, the itinerary is an emotional one, including stops near a bench immortalized by Princess Diana and a hotel that was once the scene of utter horror.

Hello Magazine helps us out with a day-by-day breakdown of the April 10-16 trip that will have them roaming destinations in India as well as Bhutan.

Here are just a few of the most notable locations.

The Taj Palace Hotel:

The lavish hotel is a true gem in the Mumbai area. However, in 2008, it was the site of a truly horrific terrorist attack.

Since that time emotional wounds have healed and the hotel has rejuvenated along with the times, welcoming such dignitaries as President Obama in 2010.

Gandhi Smriti:

The Royal Couple continue an emotionally charged trip at a museum dedicated to the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi.

As noted, the two will even walk a path that recounts the moment the iconic figure lost his life.

Kaziranga National Park:

There will be two days devoted to highlighting the crucial need for conservation awareness at the perfect park for such endeavors.

As expected, the two will even get to tour the expanse of what is a vibrant park bursting with beautiful wildlife.

You can begin to see just how remarkable and quite possibly unforgettable this trip will be for the young couple.

Paro Taktsang:

Of course, life isn't all entourages and limousine processions. Sometimes you have to work for your memories, which also means dealing with any aversion to heights.

The trip takes a magical turn as the Duke and Duchess tread tirelessly to Paro Taktsang.

It might be an arduous journey, but you are rewarded with a vantage "3,120 meters above the sea level on the side of the upper Paro valley," according to the Buddhist temple's website.

The Taj Mahal:

Lastly, the trip unwinds at the famed Taj Mahal, which holds a particular hold on Prince William.

The Telegraph explains a mother's tie to the iconic landmark: "Diana, Princess of Wales visited the Taj Mahal alone in 1992 when she and the Prince of Wales were on a tour of India, and she was famously pictured sitting on a bench in total isolation as she dropped the first hints that the couple's marriage was in trouble."

The publication continues that Diana's Bench has become a big tourist draw for the droves that already frequent the world marvel. And it lends a rather touching bookend to a short trip that packs a lifetime of memories.
