Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort have announced limited-time experiences within the SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and at Universal CityWalk, in conjunction with the launch of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
The experience launches March 10 and will continue daily through April 13. Yoshi will participate in a meet and greet opportunity at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort. A specialty dessert available for purchase at select dining locations will include the Rosalina Cupcake and Galaxy Popcorn.
Fans at both destinations can purchase limited-time merchandise inspired by the film, such as interactive shoulder pals that feature light and sound and communicate with each other when close together. And guests can pose in a galactic tunnel-like experience straight from Mario’s newest onscreen journey.
The movie itself will be showing on the big screen at Universal Cinema at Universal CityWalk Hollywood and Universal Cinemark at Universal CityWalk Orlando, beginning April 1.
In addition, Universal Studios Hollywood has announced the remaining three ride vehicles joining the previously announced Dodge Charger that will comprise each of the “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” trains as the theme park puts on final touches for high-speed outdoor roller coaster that opens this summer.
The ride will offer guests a chance to step into one of the four ride vehicles, modeled after the cars driven by some of their favorite Fast & Furious characters in the film series, to experience the energy and thrill of the films’ street racing for themselves. The three new cars are the Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline GT-R, and Toyota Supra.
“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will feature 360-degree rotation technology designed to create a seamless sensation of drifting cars as guests spin in motion at speeds up to 72 mph, while careening along 4,100 feet of elaborate aerial track that winds its way over sections of the theme park, including the multi-level Starway escalator that connects the Upper and Lower Lots.
