Earn Points for Referring Friends to Chase Hyatt Card
Features & Advice Holly Johnson November 27, 2017

Travel credit cards make it easy to earn points when you use them for your regular spending and bills, but did you know you can rack up more points for referring friends? While several card issuers have offered refer-a-friend programs over the years, Chase has recently stepped up its game to make the process even easier.
Earlier this year, they even added the Hyatt Credit Card to the roster of rewards cards that offer referral bonuses. You can earn 10,000 Hyatt points for referring a friend using your unique referral link—with a limit of 50,000 referral points per year.
This brings Hyatt into the fold with other cards that offer referral bonuses via Chase. Currently, you can click this link to refer friends to any of the following Chase credit cards:
—Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card
—Hyatt Credit Card
—Disney Visa Card
—Chase Sapphire Reserve
—Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card
—Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card
—Chase Sapphire Preferred
—Chase Freedom
—Chase Freedom Unlimited
Each of these cards limits consumers to five referrals, which sets a cap of 50,000 points or $500 in cash-back you can earn. Also, keep in mind that you do need to have each card to refer others. (i.e.You can’t refer people and earn rewards on cards you don’t have yourself.)

What is a point from the World of Hyatt program worth these days?
At the end of the day, it really depends. I recently spent 8,000 Hyatt points on a Hyatt Place near the Nashville airport and thought that was a stellar deal. I also set my parents up with an all-inclusive stay at the Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay for 25,000 points per night. Considering the fact all their meals and drinks are included in this rate, 25,000 points per night seemed cheap.
Hyatt’s standard award chart works as follows:
—Category 1: 5,000 points per night
—Category 2: 8,000 points per night
—Category 3: 12,000 points per night
—Category 4: 15,000 points per night
—Category 5: 20,000 points per night
—Category 6: 25,000 points per night
—Category 7: 30,000 points per night
Keep in mind, these are redemption values for standard rooms only. You can fork over more points for a better room or a suite depending on where you are staying. As mentioned already, Hyatt’s all-inclusive properties in Mexico and Jamaica come with the added benefit of including food, drinks, alcohol and entertainment in your room rate whether you pay with cash or points.
It’s worth noting, however, that the nightly rate for Hyatt all-inclusive resorts is for double occupancy only. If you want to add a kid to your reservation, you may need to pay a surcharge of an extra 12,500 points per night.
If you have the Hyatt Credit Card already and want to earn more points by referring friends, it’s easier than ever to do so. Make sure to click the Chase refer-a-friend page to refer friends by email, through social media, or with a personalized link.
