It used to be that hotel guests had to fear bed bugs crawling into their sheets.
According to ABC News, a housekeeper at an Asheville, North Carolina hotel was stunned to find a 5-foot-long boa constrictor under the covers inside an empty hotel room Monday.
Police responded to the bizarre situation at the Rodeway Inn and Suites and had the snake transported to Buncombe County Animal Shelter until its owner could be located.
The snake's owner, Neil Miller told WLOS-TV he was "terrified" when he realized he had left the 3-year-old Colombian red tail boa behind while visiting a friend.
"I set him down for two minutes and forgot about him, walked out," said Miller, who revealed the snake's name is "Chuck."
Miller arrived at the shelter to recover his "son" later Monday. The reunion was captured on video.
No charges were filed and no one was injured in the mishap.
2017 has been rife with hair-raising snake stories. A 5-foot-long python was found by a staff member at a Worcester, Massachusetts hotel room earlier this year.

Elsewhere, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents found three live king cobras inside of a potato chip canister arriving from Hong Kong and later discovered five juvenile king cobras and three geckos inside of a package at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
