Disney Vacation Club’s new Island Tower, located at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows at Walt Disney World Resort will be available to book on June 4, ahead of its December opening later this year.
Island Tower, a waterfront retreat inspired by the South Pacific islands, will offer room configurations suitable for two to nine guests. The hotel offers one- and two-bedroom villas, two-bedroom penthouse villas, duo studios and deluxe studio accommodation
options.
Disney Vacation Club Members can enjoy booking their stays at the new tower beginning June 4, while annual passholders can book their stays that day after, on June 5. The new tower was part of Disney's 2024 preview of new experiences across the parks and its experiences.
The Island Tower is ten stories tall and offers Polynesian-inspired artwork and design throughout the public spaces and rooms. Walt Disney Imagineering used recycled fish nets to create sculptures and living moss to create enchanting chandeliers, welcoming
travelers to immerse themselves in Disney's creativity.
“Our main story narrative focuses on celebrating Polynesian wayfinding and the natural elements of water, earth, wind and fire. During the artwork development, we focused on three guiding principles: Polynesian stories, sustainability stories and Disney
stories. This new tower features works created by contemporary Polynesian artists as well as artwork featuring subtle nods to ‘Moana’ and Disney Legend Mary Blair,” said Walt Disney Imagineer Madeline Day.
Aligned with Disney’s 2030 environmental goal, the Island Tower will use 30 percent less energy than a typical resort and was constructed using pre-fab techniques to minimize construction waste. It’s also set to become a part of the Florida Department
of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging program.
